Tuition & payments
Referring a family to your center
Tell a friend about your center. If their child enrolls, your center can take a tuition credit off one of your invoices.
How it works
There's no referral code or link to share. You tell a friend about your center, your friend tells the center you sent them, and your center does the rest.
- Tell a friend about your center In person, by text, however you like.
- Your friend mentions you When they get in touch with the center, or fill in its inquiry form, they say you referred them.
- Your center links them to you A director connects your friend's inquiry to your family. From then on it shows in your app as a referral.
- Their child enrolls Once your friend's child is enrolled, a director can apply your tuition credit.
If the app shows you a referral code or a Share button, you have an older version of the app. Update it from the App Store or Google Play.
What your friend does
Your friend only needs to tell the center you referred them, by name, when they call, email or visit, or in the inquiry form. Your child's name helps the director find your family.
If they forget, tell your center yourself, the sooner the better. A referral only appears in your app once a director has linked it, so nothing shows up just because your friend got in touch.
The tuition credit
After your friend's child enrolls, a director applies a tuition credit to an open invoice on your account. It's usually $50, but your center can set a different amount for each referral. It shows on the invoice as a Referral credit line and lowers what you owe.
- It isn't automatic. A director applies it. Until they do, the referral shows Enrolled · credit due.
- It goes on an invoice you haven't paid yet. If you have no open invoice, your center can apply it once you do.
- It can't be more than what's left to pay on that invoice. If the invoice has less left on it than the credit, only that much comes off. Ask your center about the rest.
- It's a credit on your tuition, not cash. It's never paid out or refunded.
Who can get the credit
The credit is for families who pay their own tuition (private pay). If your child's care is paid through ERDC or another state child care subsidy, you're welcome to recommend your center, but a referral credit can't go on your account.
If you pay your own tuition and your center says you aren't eligible, ask them to check how your account is set up.
Following your referrals
In the app, open More → Earn rewards → Refer a family. At the top you'll see:
- Families referred: friends your center has linked to you,
- Enrolled: how many of them have enrolled,
- Credit applied: the total already taken off your invoices,
- Credit due: credit you've earned that hasn't been applied yet.
Below that, each referral shows its status:
- Not enrolled yet: your center has linked your friend to you, but their child hasn't enrolled.
- Enrolled · credit due: their child has enrolled, and the credit is waiting for a director to apply it.
- Credit applied: the credit is on one of your invoices.
Once your center has linked a referral to your family, the Payments tab shows a referral card too. To see the credit itself, open the invoice it went on; see Paying tuition.
If something looks wrong
Your center runs its referral program, so ask your center's director:
- A friend enrolled but isn't listed. Your center hasn't linked them to you yet. Tell the director who referred whom.
- A referral has said Enrolled · credit due for a while. Ask the director to apply the credit.
- The amount isn't what you expected. Your center can set the amount for each referral, and the credit can't be more than what was left on the invoice.
