Closures, events and notices — where they appear and how not to miss the ones that matter.
What they're used for
Announcements go to every family at the center: closures and weather days, holiday hours, events and picture days, policy changes, and the occasional reminder about hats.
They're one-to-many, so an announcement is never about your child specifically. Anything about your child comes through your classroom messages or the daily report.
Where they appear
In the app alongside your messages, and as a notification if you have those enabled. Older announcements stay available, so a date you half-remember from three weeks ago is still there.
Not missing them
Leave notifications on for announcements even if you turn other things off. This is the channel a snow-day closure arrives on at 6am, and it's the one worth being interrupted by. See Notifications.
Most centers use more than one channel for a genuine emergency closure. If you've had a call and an announcement about the same thing, that's the system working rather than a mistake.
Replying
Announcements aren't a discussion thread — a hundred families replying "thanks!" helps nobody. If you have a question about one, message your classroom or the director directly.
