Events, RSVPs and conferences
What's coming up at your center, telling them who's coming, and your child's conferences.
Getting to the calendar
Go to More and tap Birthdays. That opens the whole calendar, not just birthdays, starting on the Calendar tab. Typing calendar into Find a feature at the top of More finds it too.
Notifications are the other way in: tapping a new-event or conference notification opens the calendar.
There are four tabs: Calendar, Events, Conferences and Birthdays.
Events
The Calendar tab lists what's coming up — events for families and for the whole center. Staff-only dates, like in-service days, aren't shown to families. Switch between List and Month to see it the way you prefer.
To put an event on your phone's own calendar, tap Add to Calendar on it. Tap it again to take it back off.
When your center adds an event for families, you'll get a notification that starts New event, as long as notifications from RoundUp are on.
RSVPing
- Tap RSVP On the event itself, or in the RSVP Reminder card at the top, which lists upcoming events you haven't answered.
- Choose your response Going or Not going.
- Check the children All your children start selected. Leave Child list on Include and tap off anyone who isn't coming.
- Tap Save The event shows your RSVP, and its button changes to Update RSVP.
Plans changed? Tap Update RSVP and answer again — your latest answer is the one that counts. View RSVP details shows what you said, and lets you change which children are coming with We'll be there or Can't make it.
Keep at least one child selected. An RSVP with no children on it isn't tied to your family, so the reminder keeps asking.
Answer even when it's a no. Headcounts decide how many staff, snacks and chairs a center plans for.
Parent-teacher conferences
When a teacher schedules a conference for your child, you'll get a Parent-teacher conference scheduled notification, and it appears on the Conferences tab with the date, time, who it's with and where. It's already booked for you — there's nothing to accept. Tap Add to Calendar to put it on your phone.
You may see other times listed as booked. Those belong to other families and don't show whose they are; yours is the one with your child's name on it.
If the time doesn't work, message the teacher first to find another. Cancel booking frees the slot but doesn't send the teacher a message or arrange a new time, so it's the last step, not the first.
Birthdays
The Birthdays tab shows birthdays in your child's class: today's, the ones coming up in the next 60 days, and any celebrated in the past week. You see your own children and their classmates, not the whole center.
If you're planning to send something in for your child's birthday, check with the room first. Food rules and allergies vary from class to class.
Seeing events in your own calendar app
Some centers share a family calendar link you can subscribe to in your phone's or computer's calendar app, so new events appear there on their own. It carries family and center-wide events only, never staff-only ones.
The link comes from your center rather than the app. If you'd like one, ask your director.
