Authorized pickups

Who is allowed to collect your child, how to add someone, and what to do when today is an exception.

For parents and guardians

Your authorized list

Every child has a list of people allowed to collect them. At check-out, staff see whether the person collecting is on it. Someone who isn't gets flagged, and a director has to authorize the pickup deliberately and record why.

It can feel like friction on a Tuesday afternoon. It's the single most important check a center makes.

Adding someone

Ask your center to add them, with the person's full name and relationship to your child. Depending on your center's policy you may be asked to confirm in writing or provide ID for the new person — that's their policy, not a RoundUp setting.

Add the people who genuinely collect regularly. A long list of everyone who might one day help out makes the check weaker, because staff stop reading it carefully.

A one-off pickup today

Contact your center directly — phone or a message in the app — and tell them who is collecting and roughly when. They can authorize it as a one-off, and the pickup is recorded with the reason.

Tell them as early as you can. A director authorizing a pickup at 5:15pm on a phone call is doable; the same call at 5:55pm while a room is closing is how mistakes get made.

Custody arrangements

If there's a court order or custody arrangement affecting who may collect your child, tell your center directly and give them the paperwork. This isn't something to handle through an app note — they need the document on file.

Being asked for ID

Staff may ask an authorized person for ID, particularly the first few times or when they don't recognize someone. It isn't personal and it isn't distrust — it's the check working. Warn whoever is collecting so they aren't caught out.

Removing someone

Ask your center to remove them, and say if it's urgent. Removals take effect immediately once made.

If a removal is urgent for a safety reason, phone your center rather than sending a message. Messages get read when a teacher next has a free hand, which may not be soon enough.

Still stuck?

Your center's director can see your family's account and can fix most things fastest. If the app itself is misbehaving, that one's ours.
