Turning notifications on or off

Choosing what interrupts you — and the one category worth leaving on.

For parents and guardians

Changing them

Notification settings live in the app under your profile or settings. Your phone also has its own switch for RoundUp — if you've turned notifications off at the operating system level, the app's own settings can't override that.

What you can be told about

  • Announcements — closures, events and center-wide notices.
  • Messages — replies from your child's classroom.
  • Daily reports and photos — when new ones are shared.
  • Billing — payments due, taken, or failed.

Worth keeping on

Announcements and billing, at minimum. Announcements is how a snow-day closure reaches you at 6am. Billing is how you find out a payment failed before it becomes three months of arrears.

Photos are the noisy one

If the app feels like too much, turn photo notifications off first. The photos are still there when you open the app — you just stop being pinged for each one, which is usually the actual complaint.

If it's too much

Turning everything off is a fair choice, but check the app deliberately if you do — particularly for announcements about closures and anything about billing.

If nothing arrives

Check in this order: your phone's settings for RoundUp, then the app's own settings, then whether Do Not Disturb or a focus mode is filtering them. If all three look right and you still get nothing, tell us.

Still stuck?

Your center's director can see your family's account and can fix most things fastest. If the app itself is misbehaving, that one's ours.
