Quick Actions on the Classroom tab

What each tile does, which ones keep a record, and which ones forget everything when you close them.

For teachers, lead teachers and assistant teachers

Finding Quick Actions

Open the Classroom tab, or More → Classrooms. Every staff role can use it; the lobby kiosk can't.

Scroll down to the Attendance heading. Under it is a Quick Actions row, folded each time you open the tab; tap it to show the tiles. The nap timer and logging reminder above the heading, and the shortcuts at the top of the tab such as Care Logs and End of Day, aren't part of it.

Lead and assistant teachers

Right now the add button on Tummy Time, Outdoor Play, Medications and Lesson Plans only shows for staff set up as Teacher, and for directors. If you're a Lead or Assistant Teacher and can't see it, ask your director to log it and let us know.

Behavior Log

For a behavior you want to understand, not only report. Tap New ABC Log and fill in the Child, Date, Time, a Severity (LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH), then the three parts that give the log its name: Antecedent (what happened before), Behavior (what the child did) and Consequence (what happened after). Additional notes is optional. Tap Save.

Narrow the list by Child name, From date and To date. Patterns show up over weeks, not in one entry, which is why the before and after matter as much as the behavior.

Entries can't be edited in the app, and only a director or administrator sees the delete button. Behavior logs are for staff only: families can't see them anywhere in the app. If a family needs to know about something, tell them yourself or file an incident report.

Tummy Time and Outdoor Play

Tummy Time is logged per child: tap Log Session, choose the Child, enter Duration (minutes) and any Position / notes, and tap Save. Each card shows the child's minutes today; Week Trend shows the last seven days. The reminder at the top names every child in the room with nothing logged, older children included.

Outdoor Play is logged per room: Duration (minutes), Room / group, Weather conditions and Logged by. Today's total turns amber below 60 minutes. That threshold is built into the app; your state's own rule is the one that counts.

Allergy plans and separation

Allergy EAP opens Allergy Plans, with one emergency action plan per child: allergens, symptoms, severity, the epi-pen and where it is, response steps and an emergency contact. Any teacher can read them; only directors and administrators can add or change one, and saving again for a child updates their plan rather than adding a second. When a child with a SEVERE plan is checked in, a red alert at the top says so.

Sep. Anxiety opens the Separation Log. Tap Log Drop-Off to record how a drop-off went: Severity, Minutes to settle, Dropped off by, Notes and Strategies that worked. Each child's card shows their last seven drop-offs and one Strategies that work note that any staff member can edit, so whoever is on the door knows what helps.

These records are kept for your center, not on your phone, so they survive a new tablet. Tummy time, outdoor play and drop-off entries can't be changed or removed in the app once saved, so check the child and the minutes before you tap save.

Sunscreen

Log All records an application for every checked-in child. Log One Child adds the Product type (Sunscreen, Bug Spray or Both), Product name, SPF, who applied it and notes. Families don't see these in the app.

Sub View

Hand a substitute the tablet on this screen. It shows the room's published lesson plan for today, every child with their allergies, authorized pickups and emergency contacts (tap a number to call), and the room's Room Rules & Notes, which only a director or administrator can edit. The substitute enters their name under I'm subbing today and taps Log as subbing today, which records who covered the room.

What isn't saved

These look like records but keep nothing once you close them or leave the tab:

  • Checklist, and the End of Day checklist at the top of the tab.
  • Supply Wishlist. The items it opens with are examples, and families can't see it.
  • Visitors, which only directors see.

Use them as a prompt, not a record. If your center needs proof of who visited or what was checked, keep it on paper for now.

Something not working?

Your director can fix most account and room problems on the spot. If the app itself is misbehaving, tell us what you tapped and what happened.
