Help Center/Text Message Program & Opt-In

Text Message Program & Opt-In

How families choose to get texts from their child's center, what we send, and how to stop.

RoundUp LLC · Effective October 1, 2026

RoundUp is software that child-care centers use to run their day and stay in touch with families. A center that offers texting can send families text messages through RoundUp. Texts are always optional, and a family only receives them after opting in themselves.

What you'll receive

  • Closures and emergencies — snow days, early closures, and time-sensitive safety notices.
  • Reminders — upcoming events, picture day, and schedule changes.
  • Check-in and check-out — a note when your child arrives or is picked up, where your center sends these.
  • Billing reminders — tuition due dates and payment confirmations, where your center sends these.
  • Two-way messages — replies with your center's staff about pickup, absences or quick questions.

Every text names your center at the start.

How you opt in

Getting texts is never a condition of enrollment or of any purchase. A parent or guardian opts in one of these ways:

  1. In the RoundUp app, when you create your account. You enter your own mobile number and check a consent box, which is unchecked by default. No text is sent unless you check it.
  2. In the RoundUp app, later. Open Settings → Notifications → Text messages, enter your mobile number, check the same consent box, and tap “Turn on texts”.
  3. By text. Text START, UNSTOP or YES to your center's RoundUp number. You'll get a one-time confirmation, and then you're subscribed.

Center staff can't sign a family up for texts. They can only turn texts off for a family who asks.

At a center in Canada, the checkbox also says on whose behalf the texts come, how to withdraw consent and how to reach us, as Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) asks:

Opting in by text carries the same terms. When you opt in, we keep a record of the number you gave, the wording you agreed to, in the language the app showed it, and when.

Message frequency & cost

Frequency varies with your child's attendance and your center's activity. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan. RoundUp and your center don't charge you for texts.

Sample messages:

Sunrise ELC: We're closed today because of snow. Stay safe — we'll text when we reopen. Reply STOP to opt out.

Sunrise ELC: Reminder: picture day is tomorrow. Reply STOP to opt out.

Sunrise ELC: Hi! Can you confirm Ava's pickup time today?

How to stop, or get help

Text STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT or END at any time. You'll get one confirmation that you've been unsubscribed, and then the texts stop — at every center that has your number. You can also turn texts off in the app under Settings → Notifications → Text messages.

Text HELP or INFO for help, or email support@roundupece.com. Text START to resume later.

In French, text ARRÊT (or ARRET) to stop and AIDE for help, as the whole message.

This program is not used for affiliate marketing, lead generation or advertising. Your number is shared only with the service providers that deliver the texts, and only to deliver them.
